Free education for unprivilleged females in M.Sc/PG Diploma in Oncology Nursing

We are proud to launch our own M.Sc./PG Diploma in Oncology Nursing program from our dedicated classrooms, focusing on advanced oncology care. This initiative aims to develop a cadre of skilled oncology nurses, addressing critical healthcare needs. With this milestone, we reaffirm our commitment to women's empowerment and advancing healthcare education for a brighter future.

At Kanakam Foundation, women empowerment has been at the heart of our mission since 2016. We are committed to uplifting women from underprivileged and cancer-affected families by providing them with the skills, resources, and opportunities needed to lead independent and dignified lives. Through our multifaceted initiatives, we aim to empower women to excel in various fields and contribute meaningfully to their families and communities.
In the previous years, Kanakam Foundation has been deeply committed to empowering women by providing scholarships for aspiring nurses from underprivileged backgrounds. We have supported their career development by offering General Duty Assistant (GDA) training, equipping them with essential skills to excel in the healthcare sector.

As we look ahead to the academic training, Kanakam foundation often provide holistic support, including mid-day meal, and necessary medical supplies, ensuring that students can focus entirely on their education without worrying about their hardships. Mentorship programs are also a crucial aspect of these initiatives, where experienced nurses and healthcare professionals guide students, helping them navigate the challenges of the nursing profession.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for financial assistance, patients must:
  1. Applicants must be female candidates.
  2. Age should be 21 years.
  3. Degree in B.Sc Nursing.
  4. The annual family income should be comes under Below Poverty Line.

Empowering Women Through Training and Education

  1. GDA Training for Women:

    Since 2016, we have been equipping women with General Duty Assistant (GDA) training to prepare them for careers in the healthcare sector, enabling them to secure stable employment and serve society.

  2. Palliative Care Course:

    Women receive specialized training in palliative care, preparing them to deliver compassionate care to patients and their families.

  3. Digital Literacy Programs:

    We organize educational programs to improve digital literacy among women, bridging the technology gap and enhancing their career opportunities.

  4. Scholarships for Higher Studies:

    To empower young female students, we provide scholarships for higher education, enabling them to pursue their graduation and realize their dreams.

Supporting our foundation that offers free nursing education to underprivileged students is an investment in the future of healthcare. Vocational Training and Income Generation Programs

  1. Vocational Training for Women:

    Our vocational training initiatives prepare women for diverse career opportunities, including tailoring and medical apparel manufacturing.

  2. Seed Vending and Organic Farming:

    Women are trained in seed vending, growing saplings, and organic farming, equipping them with sustainable agricultural skills.

  3. Vegetable Preservation and Organic Product Making:

    We provide training in vegetable preservation and the production of organic products like homemade food supplies, fostering income-generating opportunities.

  4. Vermicompost and Natural Fertilizer Production:

    Women are taught vermicomposting techniques and natural fertilizer production, enhancing agricultural output and promoting eco-friendly practices.

Medical Apparel Manufacturing

A significant milestone in our empowerment journey is the establishment of a medical apparel manufacturing unit. Today, 250 women, primarily from cancer-affected families and underprivileged backgrounds, are employed in this unit. This initiative not only provides them with financial independence but also instills confidence and pride in their work. Through these comprehensive programs, Kanakam Foundation has impacted countless lives, enabling women to overcome challenges and achieve self-reliance. By fostering education, skill development, and entrepreneurship, we continue to create a brighter future for women and their families.
